John McQueeney

Biography

John McQueeney was elected to represent Texas House District 97 in November 2024, assuming office on January 14, 2025, succeeding Craig Goldman who was elected to the U.S. Congress. A Fort Worth native and proud alumnus of Texas Christian University, McQueeney graduated from the M.J. Neeley School of Business in 2002 with a double major in E-Business and Marketing. His diverse business career began at RadioShack Corporation, where he advanced from Leasing Representative to Director of Leasing, managing comprehensive lease renewals and expansion strategies across the United States and Canada. He went on to become a McDonald’s franchisee, expanding his operations from San Antonio to Fort Worth, and has also owned Chicken Express locations and worked as a contractor with FedEx and advisory director at Austin County State Bank.

McQueeney ran on a platform focused on border security, cutting property taxes, and improving education through increased school funding and school choice initiatives. Currently serving on the House Licensing and Administrative Procedures Committee, State Affairs Committee, and the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Broadband, McQueeney brings his entrepreneurial experience and conservative values to his legislative work representing the residents of Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
